Race Ambassador of the Week Ivan Botha

Ivan Botha, one of the most well-known superstars of the local film and TV industry, encourages folks to make a noticeable difference in others’ lives in the SPAR Women’s Challenge.

The 2018 SPAR Women’s Challenge theme is ‘Find your wingz’ – a theme that is challenging every member of the Tshwane community to find their wings by being a vehicle for change and inspiration.

When asked about his annual involvement in the SPAR Women’s Challenge, South African superstar, Ivan Botha, enthusiastically responded that he had been part of the SPAR Women’s Challenge for as long as he can remember. “I really see myself as being part of the SPAR family. “The heart and intent behind each year’s race is the reason why I am an ambassador – I want to contribute in any possible way and play my part in making a difference in women’s lives throughout South Africa. I am honoured to take part and support the ‘find your wingz’ theme of this year’s race."

“My take on ‘find you wingz’ means to take a stand, make a difference as well be the positive change you want to see in the country, community, family, friends and wherever you may find yourself,” says Ivan. “It literally means using the talents and opportunities God has bestowed on us to assist and support others in finding their wings.”

Ivan clearly adores his fiancée Donnalee Roberts: “She always inspires me to ‘find my wingz’ and always believes in me, no matter how big the goal or task ahead. I realised that we, as South Africans and also humanity at large, must learn to support and champion each other more. The power in support is endless.”

“It is important for us to always help others to ‘find their wingz’ on our collective journey through life. The positive influence we can have on each other is endless and incalculable. The more you give the more you will receive, as long as what you give is with good and pure intent,” says Ivan.

Besides serving the community and making a positive impact on the lives of others, I encourage all to participate in the race as the “race day is electric and packed with energy.”
